A jury in NY awarded $2 million to Fox Varian after jurors found that psychologist Kenneth Einhorn and surgeon Simon Chin committed medical malpractice by performing a double mastectomy on Varian when she was only 16. Varian told the jury she was “disfigured for life.”
Now 22, Varian detransitioned and “no longer thinks of herself as a male” but suffers from permanent effects of the irreversible surgery that was performed by physicians “failing to follow proper standards.”
Her case is the first detrans lawsuit to go to trial and win in the United States – one of dozens of other cases being fought nationwide.
