After polling his followers and receiving nearly 2 million votes, Elon Musk reinstated the Twitter account of controversial Infowars host Alex Jones – despite publicly proclaiming his distaste for the infamous conspiracy theorist and media provocateur.

In a Dec 9 poll, Elon Musk asked X users if he should reinstate the account of Alex Jones. After nearly 2 million votes (70% in favor) the Infowars host was allowed to return – reigniting controversy over “freedom of speech” versus “freedom of reach” and the boundaries of the First Amendment.
