Yakov Smirnoff is a Ukrainian-American comedian, actor, and writer. He began his career as a stand-up comedian in Ukraine, then immigrated to the United States in 1977 in order to pursue an American show business career… before he knew any English. He went on to perform on stages for President Ronald Reagan, on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and for over 5 million people at his own 2,000 seat theatre in Branson, Missouri. In 2019, he earned a PhD in Psychology and Leadership from Pepperdine University.
